Side-By-Side: 7 of Swords

For Day 26 of Side by Side, I drew the 7 of Swords. The theme for this card was DECEPTION. On the right, a man tiptoes away from an enemy encampment, awkwardly carrying a bunch of swords. In the far distance, a pursuing army raises a cloud of dust as they spur towards him. On the left, Joaquin Murrieta spurs his horse across a sandy beach. He raises a purloined sword in triumph, even as some of the stolen swords tumble from his saddlebag.
