Side-By-Side: 4 of Cups

For Day 18 of Side by Side, I drew the 4 of Cups. The key themes for this card design were INTROSPECTION and MELANCHOLY. On the left, a Basque sheep herder keeps watch as sheep nibble sagebrush in the isolated, high, lonesome range of eastern California. Snow-capped mountains act like a barricade on the distant horizon. On the right, a young man folds his arms against the proffered cup, his gaze locked elsewhere.
